Track listing:

01 - Knock You Out
02 - Stick It To The Man
03 - Balls
04 - Young Tongues
05 - Put Love In Its Place
06 - Raised By Wolves
07 - Trouble
08 - Teenage Knife Gang
09 - Creatures
10 - Sleepy Demon

11 - Cockfight (Pledge Music Exclusive)
12 - Kill Your Friends (Pledge Music Exclusive)
13 - Trust In Me (ITunes / Pledge Music Exclusive)

14 - Christmas Jumpers (Outtake - Pledge Music Exclusive)

The mighty Black Spiders return with their sophmore album and follow up to 2011's debut Sons Of The North in the form of This Savage Land. Recorded via the Pledge Music method enabling the band to to exercise complete control over the end product.

The album opens with the fist pumping Knock You Out, and moves quickly into the attitude drenched Stick It To The Man. Balls slows things down a little before Young Tongues and Put Love In Its Place resume proceedings. Raised By Wolves follows and to be honest in my opinion proved to be the albums most disappointing track. Trouble, Teenage Knife Gang and Creatures quickly follow and restore the albums quality levels to max. The album proper closes with Sleepy Demon, a real plodder of a track, in the traditional Prog Rock mould. A Great song.

Now we have the exclusives. Cockfight, Kill Your Friends and Trust In Me really should have made the album proper, they are all three every bit as good as anything else on there and in the case of Raised By Wolves far superior! To be honest, my favourite tracks are, Knock You Out, Balls, Stick It To The Man, Cockfight, Trust In Me, Kill Your Friends and Sleepy Demon!

Christmas Jumpers is just the guys fooling around and I'm guessing not a genuine outtake but rather enjoyable all the same.

On a Whole This Savage Land is a great album and worthy follow up to Sons Of The North.

Well worth checking out (especially if you can gut your hands on the exclusive tracks!

Black Spiders - Kiss Tried To Kill Me Ep (2012)

Genre - Hard Rock
Label - Dark Riders

Track listing:

01 - Kiss Tried To Kill Me
02 - Sons Of The North
03 - Somebodys Fault Not Mine
04 - Search And Destroy

The mighty Black Spiders return with a new EP, Kiss Tried To Kill Me, which brings an end to the Sons of The  North era, and prepares the way for the bands second album. The lead track being probably the strongest track from last years Sons of the North album, Kiss Tried To Kill Me, which is a great commercial hard rock stomp with some great tongue in cheek lyrics. I really do love this song, I have done ever since the album came out last year!
Sons of the North orignally appeared as a bonus track on the Japanese release of the album and its good to hear it, and great that it is now easily availble to fans in the UK.
Tracks 3 and 4, Somebodys Fault Not Mine and the cover of Iggy Pop's Search and destroy are new tracks, Somebodys Fault Not Mine being a great song and fits brilliantly into the catalogue of great Spiders classics. Search and Destroy is a great cover, faithful to the original, yet with the Black Spiders finger prints all over it!
A great little EP, well worth checking out, so get out there and support one of the best British bands around at the moment!
Also worth grabbing whilst you are at it is Volume, an EP that collects together all of the previous EP tracks allowing new fans to complete their colloection, great idea!

Black Spiders - Sons Of The North

Genre - Rock
Label - Dark Riders

Track listing -
01 - Stay Down
02 - Kiss Tried To Kill Me
03 - Just Like A Woman
04 - Easy Peasy
05 - Blood Of The Kings
06 - St Peter
07 - Mans Ruin
08 - Medusa's Eyes
09 - Si, El Diablo
10 - What Goods A Rock Without A Roll

British rockers finally unleash their debut album upon us after what seems like an eternal wait! And what an album!
Opening with Stay Down, which originally appeared upon the Cinco Hombres Ep and quickly flowing into the melodic Kiss Tried To Kill Me, which has some absolutely brilliant tongue in cheek lyrics! Next up is Just Like A Woman which appeared on last year’s No Goats In The Omen Ep, and proved to be one of the best songs of 2010!
Next up we get Easy Peasy and the Epic Blood Of The Kings which is the albums longest track.
The Excellent St Peter follows, which originally appeared on last year’s St Peter Ep, and quickly became a fan favorite gaining considerable radio airplay on the likes of Kerrang radio.
Man's Ruin and Medusa’s Eyes quickly follow once again maintaining the excellent standard set by their predecessors’. Si, EL Diablo is up next, which has a kind of groovy stomp thing going on, a brilliant track. The album closes out with What Goods A Rock Without A Roll which is an out and out rocker, a great way to close an album, and although the lyrics can be a little clichéd how can you not sing along to ' Eat Thunder, Shit Lightning'?
A great album, truly magnificent!

Very Highly recommended!

Black Spiders - No Goats In The Omen EP

The latest release from UK rock hotshots, Black Spiders, is this new four track Ep, No Goats In The Omen.

Opening with 'Just Like A Woman', with its classic 70's feel and sound, a great way to start things off. Next Up is 'D-B', together with its Clash esque riff's, continuing the vibe. 'Cold Dead Hands' follows, again with that laid back 70's vibe, yet enthused with -plenty of energy. 'No Class' close's things out, pretty much as they started out.
A great EP, and I've got to tell ya, I personally cant wait for the album!

Black Spiders - St. Peter EP

UK rockers Black Spiders deliver up a classic three track Ep here.

From the southern flavoured Sabbath inspired stomper of title track 'St. Peter' to the hectic punk fuelled rocker ' I'll Be The Judge'. Even closer 'Undertaker Blues' offers up something a lil different. The band have been getting quite a lot of airplay in the UK recently on the likes of Kerrang etc, and things seem to be starting to take off for them at the moment, and deservedly so. They have a new Ep out this month titled No Goats In The Omen scheduled for release at the end of the month which I personally cant wait to check out. Just roll on the full length debut album!
