Internal Conflict – The Rising Tide (2015)

Genre - Metal/Thrash/Hardcore/Metalcore
Label – Self Released

Track listing:

01 – Darkest Before The Dawn
02 – Self Made Asylum
03 – Baying For Blood
04 – A Thousand Times
05 – Another Day
06 – Undertow
07 – Lessons
08 – The Rising Tide
09 – Deprivation

Internal Conflict are a five piece Hardcore/Metalcore/Metal band hailing from Leicester (UK)with an ever growing fan base, and now having just completed a very successful co-headlining tour of the UK with Ballsdeep, Internal Conflict are now preparing for the release of their new album 'TheRising Tide'. The band are made up of: Adam Kyle (Vocals) Sean Rice (Guitars), Matt Hall (Guitars), Dan Laffar (Bass) and Dan Robbins (Drums).
With influences ranging from: The Haunted, Machine Head, Lamb of God, Parkway Drive, As I Lay Dying, Gojira, Darkane, Chimaira, Death, Pantera, Slayer, Sepultura, In Flames, Soilwork, Testament, Devildriver, Sylosis, Malefice, Mastodon, Pink Floyd, Dream Theatre, While She Sleeps, Bleed From Within, you kind of have an idea of what to expect from these guys, it’s going to be hard, fast, aggressive and heavy!
Now I have to be brutally honest here and admit that I am not the greatest fan of the hardcore/meal genre’s, hell to be honest Gallows are the only real hardcore band that I can say that I am a fan of, but I am approaching this album, and review with a totally open mind.
Internal Conflict seem to have been impressing all the right people, gaining comments such as, "the passion was certainly visible". (Getyourrockout.co.uk), and Internal Conflict "clearly mean business" (midlandsmetalheads.com) and their music has even been described as "a riot transcribed into musical form", which is a pretty apt description to be fair.
The first thing that I notice just how mature and accomplished the musicianship is on every song, no hints anywhere that this is the band’s debut album. The guitar work of Sean Rice and Matt Hall stands up there alongside that of any of the bi9g bands, and the rhythm section are as solid as anything, not only providing a solid base for most of the songs, but in many cases driving them along! Vocalist Adam Kyle sure has a set of longs on him too!
Every song upon ‘The Rising Tide’ is well written and well performed, with the band managing to capture all the intended anger and rage to perfection, and trust me there is plenty to be found upon ‘The Rising Tide’. Your ears take a pummelling with every track, fast aggressive pounding riffs, coupled with Adams vocals from Satan’s very own gut, and there is not a bad track to be found anywhere. My only gripe with the album is that it could do with a little more variation, after all, I could do with the odd slower kore atmospheric track thrown into the mix so that I can catch my breath so to speak.
Stand out tracks for me include, title track, ‘The Rising Tide’ and the albums closer ‘Deprivation’ which see’s the band at their most versatile.
A good solid debut album that is sure to please pre-existing fans of the band, and garner a fair amount of interest from fans of the genre too.

Well worth checking out.

20. War Pigs (Black Sabbath cover)

Here is the 'Deluxe Edition' of the Cancer Bats fourth album, Dead Set On Living, resplendant with nine bonus track, five of which are covers of classic era Black Sabbath tracks.
Dead Set On Living see's the band continuing where they left off with 2010's Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones, with the band continuing to explore a heavier guitar sound, something that really comes in handy, and I would guess pretty much inspired by the Black Sabbath covers!
I would say that they have pretty much struck the perfect ballance between Black Sabbath styled heavy metal and hardcore punk, the music is still raw enough as to not alienate existing fans, whilst the heavier guitar sound adds a little something and gives the band another dimension to their music.
Dead Set On Living is a pretty solid and impressive album, and the guys manage to pull off the Sabbath covers really well, something of a rarity in my opinion.

A great album by the hardcore veterens.

Anger Management - Beyond the Threshold Of Pain

Genre - Metal / Thrash / Hardcore
Label - Three Piece Recordings
Track listing -
01 - Lifelong Suicide
02 - Show Your Anger
03 - Eyes Of The Lifeless
04 - Fear And Self Loathing
05 - Ignorance Is Bliss

Formed in 2008, Evesham (UK), by drummer Jamie Aims formerly of Murder One and Medulla Nocte. The current line up features Matt Cox on vocals (Next To Nothing), Shaun Jefferies on Bass (Next To Nothing), Jon Minett on guitar (Underule), Jamie Aims on drums and recently recruited Will Lavis on Guitar. The band offer up a brutally heavy sound, one of the heaviest attack on the senses that I can remember, and you know what, they’re bloody great. Unlike many bands in this genre, Anger Management know how to mix things up a little, yes they are always brutally heavy, but they mix up the tempo, slowing things down on tracks like Show Your Anger, yet hitting subsonic paces on tracks like Ignorance is Bliss.
Standout tracks for me include Lifelong Suicide, Show Your Anger and Fear and Self Loathing, but to be honest, with this Ep you’re in for 18 minutes of pure quality brutality!
I love it.

09. Nice Pix of the End of the World
10. Ten Milligrams
11. The Morning After

ARCADIA is a three piece Italian hardcore band. They bring us very technical, interesting music, and whilst it my not always be to my personal taste, it is always very well written and executed, and always interesting and even myself, whom will admit that I'm not a large fan of the genre, can find them very listenable and altogether enjoyable!
These guys have been around for some time now, with this being their forth release, and you can see how the band have grown and progressed.
Fans of the genre will probably love this cd, and anyone interested in checking the genre out could do far worse than giving this cd a spin.!

Violent Arrest - Minute Manifestos

24 tracks of high energy hardcore British punk! Featuring former members of the legendary 80's punk outfit Ripcord, Violent Arrest give us all 24 tracks in just under half an hour, yet each one is a perfectly formed little gem, filled with energy and angst!

'Kill Me First', this albums opening track, really does set the stall out for this album, fast angst file punk with great big catchy hooks. The songs are great, the band is pretty hot, and well what else can I say. Violent Arrest are a British Hardcore Punk band delivering just that. If you like punk, and are getting tired of the watered down stuff the American so called punks have been putting out over the past few years then this album could just very well be for you!
Check It out!!
