Black Page Turns - Simplest Of Tools Single

Leicesters Black Page Turns are back with new two track single Simplest of Tools, which is backed by “Bang! Bang! Assassin” as its B-Side.
Having already played 200+ UK gigs under his previous band The Authentics,lead singer-songwriter Mike A launches his new band, which almost a garage punk nu metal band. Rather listenable, Simplest of Tools is cool enough and filled with energy, but its Bang Bang Assassin that steals the limelight here, with its bruisingly vicious riffs and great melodies throughout!

Gunner Sgt - Forever Is A Lie ( 3 Track Single)

This is radio friendly metal aimed at the Kerrang audience but that should not put you off, Gunner Sgt have all the markings of a post grunge/Nu-Metal sound, yet they manage to retain an originality that is both infectious and endearing.
Of The Three tracks on offer here, (Why Are We Turning Back, Disorder and Eye) it is 'Disorder' that really stands out with its perfect blend of melody and metal.
This is great Ep from a very promising band, with the right breaks they should go far!
Fans Of Nirvana, Papa Roach, Hollow Limit, and the Deftones will find something to enjoy here!

Full Scream A Head - We Write Our Own Anthems Review

Formed in 2008, Full Scream Ahead have done well to secure their emotive sound and get it on disc in such a short space of time. Ambitious but acuratley titled "We Write Our Own Anthems" comes across simply as the soundtrack to the teen movie of the year. ‘Heart Still Beating’ is simply stunning, really sending shivers down the spine.
You can hear a little bit of My Chemical Romance, Minus The Bear, The Academy Is, within Full Scream A Head's sound which is good as it should help apeal the fans of these bands and help expand their fan base quicky.

Its only a six track mini album but every song hits the mark, Im absolutlely loving 'Heart Still Beating' ans 'As Good As It Gets', while 'Rio' offers a slightly mellower feel even if the tempo doesnt really drop.

A good debut release from a young band thats only been around a short while.

None The Less - The Way To save Ourselves Review

None The Less, a relatively new band having originally formed in 2007, have already reached fifth place in Best Unsigned Band by Kerrang and been billed to play at this years Download festival so "The Way To Save Ourselves", their debut mini album is an album that in certain circles may have a small sense of expectation behind it.None The Less are a young band in the Nu-metal vein, like so many out there on the British underground circuit at the moment, but what makes these guys stand out is their obvious talent especially in the songwritting department. "The Way To Save Ourselves" is an album filled with refreshing ideas, some great technical guitar work but above all some awesome vocal arrangments, beautifully crafted backing melodies and a sing / scream interplay that comes across as neither predictable or cliché. You only have to look at closing track I Feel Like Your Enemy to hear an example of how a great use of vocals can make a whole album sound amazing.These guys have the talent to really break big given the right breaks.If you like the heavier side of music, with a nu-metal tinge then these guys are really worth checking out.rating 10/10
