"In the latter quarter of last year I shared one of those beautiful kind of evenings in the presence of friends, new and old, in my spiritual home of West Hollywood, California, and thankfully the tape was rolling to capture the music I made that night too. Every now and then I have made those un-mastered soundboard recordings available to anyone curious of how my gig at Molly Malone's sounded, but upon reappraisal of the material, at the heart of it was something that simply had to be taken further and then given an official release.
Re-designed, re-edited, and now mastered for the first time courtesy of my trusty fellow, Lewis John, I am thrilled to tell you that as of 25th August 2016 you can finally hear the best bits of my gig that night presented at a superior quality unavailable until now, as Magic Cat Records Limited release my new solo live EP, 'Live at Molly Malone’s / Los Angeles 2015'. Available to download from all the usual suspects, this is the sound of me at home and in love with my surroundings. I hope you enjoy how that came out on record."
Thank God the tapes were rolling as this is one of the best sounding live recordings that I have heard in a long time, and really does seem to capture a certain magic that, if you close your eyes, transports you to the actual gig its self. Recorded at and mixed by Molly Malone's, Los Angeles, USA on 7th October 2015 Vocally Baz Francis is in great form here!
This Ep really is well worth checking out!

05 - White Lies
06 - 29 x The Pain
Now I have never been the biggest fan of live albums. The sound is usually crap or they contain so many overdubs that they cant really be classed as a live album any more, so it has to be said that I faced listening to the The Wildhearts Never Outdrunk, Never Outsung – PHUQ Live anniversary show live album with a certain amount of trepidation. I needn't have worried though as this is exactly what a live album should bloody well sound like!
Recorded in London during the PHUQ twentieth anniversary tour this is a warts 'n' all recording, featuring the album played in its entirety, together with the encores. But what makes this album special is the sound. this album sounds fantastic! The mix is perfect, thanks to the mixing talents of Dave Draper. I really can not stress just how good this album sounds, every instrument is crystal clear, (yes even CJ's guitar!), the mix captures the power and finesse of the songs and performance. This album is definitely the closest thing to actually being there!
Any fan of the band, or even Gingers solo work really should check this release out!
Definitely the best live album that will be released this year!
Very, very Highly Recommended!

Kerry Ellis & Brian May - Acoustic By Candlelight (2013)
Genre - Live / Acoustic / Rock / Show
Label -
Track listing -
01 – Born Free
02 – I Loved A Butterfly (Somethings That Glitter?)
03 – I Who Have Nothing
04 – Dust In The Wind
05 – The Kissing Me Song
06 – Nothing Really Has Changed
07 – Life Is Real
08 – The Way We Were
09 – Something
10 – Love Of My Life
11 – I’m Not That Girl
12 – I Can’t Be Your Friend
13 – In The Bleak Midwinter
14 – Crazy Little Thing Called Love
15 – No One But You (Only The Good Die Young)
Recorded live in the Uk on part of the Born Free tour, Acoustic By Candlelight is a live acoustic album featuring various acoustic renditions of Queen classics, Kerry Ellis solo and show tunes.
As a live representation of the shows, it showcases the relaxed nature of such live acoustic affairs.
Opening with the beautiful Born Free, a wonderful song that suites Kerry Ellis' voice perfectly. Brian May manages to sound warm and tender on the acoustic guitar, something thats great to hear as he is generally better known for his huge multi layered guitar sounds from his Red Special.
After brief introductions they move into I Loved A Butterfly, which was originally released on the Queen plus Paul Rogers album The Cosmos Rocks under the title of Some Things That Glitter, I'm not sure why its been given a different title hear. Its a beautiful and faithful rendition, that once again suites Kerry's voice beautifully. The album continues in the same vein, with Miss Ellis providing emotive and powerful vocals backed by Dr May's warm tender guitar instrumentation. the only time that this doesn't seem to work is on the Queen classic, Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Here Kerry's vocals seem strained and forced for some reason.
This is a wonderful little album, which fans of both Brian May and more importantly Kerry Ellis will enjoy.
If you are looking for a chilled out live acoustic album, then look no further!

Nick Simper & Nasty Habits - Live At Szene Vienna (2012)
Genre - Hard Rock / Classic Rock
Label - Angel Air Records
Track listing:
TRACKLISTING
CD/DVD
01. And The Address
02. The Painter
03. Mandrake Root
04. Emmaretta
05. Chasing Shadows
06. Lalena
07. Wring That Neck
08. Bird Has flown
09. Why Didn't Rosemary
10. Slinky
11. Roadhouse Blues
12. Kentucky Women
13. Hush
"On 8th March 2011 playing to a sold out audience at Vienna's legendary Rock Club "Szene" NICK SIMPER (founder member DEEP PURPLE) performed with NASTY HABITS (Austria's finest Classic Rock band) original tracks from Nick's period in Deep Purple (Mk 1). With Deep Purple today only having just one original member from their MK 1 days it is highly unlikely that the band will perform these now neglected classic songs in concert.
The mantle is therefore passed to Nick and Nasty Habits to bring some long forgotten classics back to life and bring them back to life they do. They performed eleven tracks from the first three Deep Purple albums plus one new track "Slinky" from the forthcoming new album.
This release is both a CD version and an actual DVD of the concert at The Scene, Vienna
(MUSICIANS - NICK SIMPER, CHRISTIAN SCHMID, HELMUT PUSCHACHER, CHRISTIAN HEISSENBERGER, PETER BRKUSIC)"
Ok I have to admit something, I embarrassingly had never heard any Deep Purple MK1, and cant say that I had heard of Nick Simper. So imagine my suprise upon hearing these classic tracks performed live, and being completley blown away!
The recording captures the esscence of the songs, Nasty Habits perform the songs excellently without ever trying to mimic the original members of Deep Purple in any way. the new song featured, Slinky, indicates that these guys have a lot to offer in the way of new song ideas, and with Nicks prestigious back catalogue to draw from they have a wealth of material for future set lists.
A great cd and Dvd package, allowing the viewer / listener to feel as though they are actually their on the night!
Well worth checking out for fans of Mk1 Deep Purple and Nick Simper, or just fans of the classic rock genre full stop!

Recorded live in Birmingham 2011this cd is a great momento of a great tour from last yearand is essentially an authorised bootleg as compared to a commercial release. Not the set list most were expecting dare i say, but all the better for it non the less. Ginger was joined by Random Jon Poole, Jase Edwards and Willie Dowling, and this cd manages to capture the true feel of the gig, it really is almost as though you are actually there. This is a great cd with excellent renditions of Drunken Lord Of Everything, Understanding Jane, Unlucky In Love and a rare live outing for Loveshit.
A great momento for those who were lucky enough to be there, a great way to experience what was obviously a cracking gig for those who just couldnt make it on the night (or tour!)
Highly reconmended!
